Prometheus (Study I)

Liver and onions — second state
Era
Titanomachy, dinner service
Provenance
The Caucasus, table for one
Medium
Woodcut on speckled stock, second state
Edition
Artist's proof

A second state of the Prometheus composition, pulled on speckled stock with the banner and skillet repositioned. The registrar retains it for comparison with the definitive impression, and because deaccessioning a Titan feels legally ambitious.

Second of three known states of this composition. Retained for study; the definitive impression hangs in the Pantheon wing.
