A Roman folk figure wanders the frontier sowing regular dodecahedrons wherever the soil looks receptive. Scholars remain divided on what the objects were for; the figure himself appears untroubled by the question. The banner text — "Mysterious? Yes. Practical? No. Funny: Absolutelyt." — is preserved exactly as printed.
The doubled R in DODECAHEDRRONS and the terminal T of ABSOLUTELYT are original to the plate. The printer was likely also the humorist, which explains a great deal.
