A second telling of the Archive's most polite death threat: the dagger and the note on the pillow, delivered while Saladin slept inside a guarded camp. The message was not the blade. The message was that they could have.

Square-format variant of the Nizari plate with the title and closing line cropped at the sheet edge. Held for study while the curators determine whether the crop is a wound or a choice.
