Despite All Odds
“The meadow kept its promise”
- Era
- An unspecified spring
- Provenance
- A cottage garden, somewhere gentle
- Medium
- Oil-manner painting, printed on cotton
- Edition
- Limited run
A mother and daughter gather wildflowers beneath blossoming apple trees, a butterfly within the child's reach and a cottage that has clearly never known a mortgage. No plague, no pantheon, no fine print. The Archive acquired this piece under circumstances it describes only as 'despite all odds.'
Curator's memo: rendered in soft pastels and oil light, entirely outside the house palette. Where Organism 46-B drifted dark, this one drifted kind. The committee has not decided whether tenderness is a wing or a visiting exhibition.
