Caligula

Seemed Normal to Me
Era
37–41 AD
Provenance
Rome, briefly
Medium
Woodcut after a cracked marble original
Edition
Senate-approved (under duress)

A portrait bust of the emperor as his contemporaries described him in public: fine, totally fine. The crackle pattern in the marble is original. So was the horse in the Senate. Sources from within stabbing distance report no concerns whatsoever.
